Need Weekend Travel Outfit Ideas for those Summer Weekend Getaways???

Here’s a rundown of outfits from our recent road trip to San Antonio, Texas. Complete with a packing list at the end. Not pictured is the swimsuit I wore because shark week – bloat. PERIODT.

Where we stayed: The beautiful La Cantera Resort & Spa. Gorgeous! We stay at this resort yearly. The kids love the pools, we love the city and it’s food.

    T-SHIRT DRESS & SNEAKERS

Comfort is necessary when you are driving or sitting in a car for a few hours. I like to wear t-shirt dresses for Road trips. They are comfortable and cool, and my denim jacket helps with any excessive A/C. This outfit is simply a T-shirt Dress + Sneakers + Denim Jacket + Bumbag

LINEN SHORTS & LINEN BUTTON DOWN

Spending the first day exploring the city we are visiting. This means walking shoes, breathable clothing and that extra layer. A white linen button down paired with green linen shorts and I tried three different shoes – a dad sandal, wedge espadrille and gold gladiator sandals. Which would you choose?

KNIT TANK + GINGHAM SHORTS + BLAZER + WEDGE ESPADRILLES

For a dressy dinner I paired a pair of lime and white gingham shorts with a lime knit tank, white blazer and black wedge espadrilles. I love dressing up, and dressing shorts is so much fun because it is a little unexpected! Everyone wears a dress or skirt for dressy occasions, but shorts are overlooked, and if you can find a pair in a good fabric they make a really cool statement.

The tank and shorts are Zara finds and can not be linked. Why they lock that down I have no idea!! Let people share already!! The tank is simply labeled “Basic Knit Top,” and the shorts “Structured Shorts with Golden Buttons.” (Click the colored text for the direct link) everything else is linked here:

TAN TEE + WHITE SHORTS + SNEAKERS

I played around with variations of this outfit. Considered denim shorts, but wore the white ones. I also really love the pop of a statement sneaker, for our 2nd day exploring the city.

FLORAL BLOUSE + DENIM SHORTS + BLAZER

This was a dinner outfit after an afternoon in the pool. There is usually no time for full on hair and makeup to make dinner reservations. When this happens, I simply shower off the pool, but not my face and hair. It sounds cringe, and probably really is. But I can be ready in zero time by just pulling my hair into a bun, freshening up my makeup and popping on some really big earrings.

This blouse is another Zara fave and is listed as “Floral Print Blouse,” everything else is listed here:

TRACK SHORTS + TANK + SNEAKERS + DENIM JACKET

Once again for the Road Trip home I prefer comfort. I always lean towards my trusty denim jacket, a racer tank or tee and a pair of track shorts or leggings. We usually stop for breakfast and do a little extra exploring before we drive back to Houston. Stopping plenty along the way of course.
